The simple truth behind my coming up missing is real life. It's been busy at work and VB has had to take a side seat to sleep and entertainment. If it didn't, I swear my head would explode. Too much "robot" and not enough problem solving. It is wearing my nerves thin...let me explain:
It doesn't help that I will be returning to college here in the spring (or fall if I get off my butt and go sign the papers). I've been "comfortable" at work without my degree and now I'm being told that without it, I'm stuck were I am. I am what _I_ would consider a talented college dropout. I was the one that seemed to know the answers without studying hard. The one sitting in the back of the class drawing stick figures instead of writing notes and passing the class with A/B average. It's a curse... really ...because school bored the *beep* out of me and I couldn't stand wasting money on something if I wasn't learning, so I left. It was the last thing I should have done. I should have stayed and sucked up the last year and got my degree. Lemme tell you, I'm paying for it now. Don't look at this paragraph as me gloating or showing off. I tell you it really sucks. Try going through college/school unchallenged. It's boring as *beep*. I wish I was in different shoes sometimes.
Things at work to me are at the point of being tedious. Tedious is not challenging, it's annoying. When you do something because that's the way it's always been done, your not thinking, your just doing. There is not challenge in following directions. This is why I've decided to finish my degree. I want to move into a position where I'll be challenged to come up with solutions, not be the one following the directions.
Well, now that I've taken up about a half hour of your time (sorry for the long post), I'll be popping in every so often to help out when I can, but don't be surprised if I fall off the face of the Earth for a few days or weeks. I'll be back soon, I just don't know when.... _________________ If you happen to see little people sitting on your desk...don't tell anyone or they might think your crazy too. |

I know what you mean, flying through school without having to work hard. It seems to have cursed me too. I learned my lesson last year, when I nearly failed science because I was too lazy to do the homework. Boy, that was not such a good idea. _________________ NCSA Certified in HTML 4.0:
