MSDN help says...

"Note: Before you can use an MSFlexGrid in your application, you must add the MSFlxGrd.ocx file to your project. To automatically include the file in your project, put it in the Autoload file."

so just what is this autoload file?, Ive looked in all my VB books, in MSDN help its only mentioned twice as above, I did a web search which only brought me back to the MSDN help, and I know it was never mentioned back in school.

autoload file, what is it?, and where is it?

I'm not sure what they are talking about, but I do know you have to add it to the project under the menu Project|Components. It's listed as "Microsoft FlexGrid Control 6.0". If you plan on redistributing the application you need to include the ocx file with the distribution, but if you use the Package wizard, it will do all that for you.

edit:
I'm not real fond of the FlexGrid though, I prefer the Datagrid if working with database applications.

I believe now that the autoload file was a procedure that was used prior to VB 5, but is still being referred to in MSDN help

I played around a bit with the flexgrid, Its interesting and has alot of neat properties but I think Im just gonna stick with my datagrid, it has all i need.

my form/test project is coming along nicely, i'll be back....... Brad
