Can anyone help me with the following question?

1. If I use a piracy copy of VB 6.0 to write a program and sell that program, is that program illegal?

2. If I use a piracy copy of VB 6.0 to write a program and use a VB 6.0 that with licence to copile that program and sell that program. Is that program still illegal?

3. Can we use Academic version of the VB 6.0 / VB.net to write program for business use? or write program for sale?

Millions Thanks~~

This is my opinion, not what it might be:

1. If I use a piracy copy of VB 6.0 to write a program and sell that program, is that program illegal?
I would say your program is illegal, because it was compiled with a illegal copy of Visual Basic

2. If I use a piracy copy of VB 6.0 to write a program and use a VB 6.0 that with licence to copile that program and sell that program. Is that program still illegal?
For this question, I would say that it is legal, because it was compiled with a version of VB6 that you legally purchaced or purchaced a license for.

3. Can we use Academic version of the VB 6.0 / VB.net to write program for business use? or write program for sale?
I'm not too sure about the write for business use. If you mean, "Could my business use it", I would say not. I am sure you could make a program with VB Academic and sell it.

Microsoft has discontiuned the support and sales of VB6 so you might be able to get away with a bit more....though I would always have a legally purchaced version of VB6 just to be safe.

Hi,

I would go a little further than Vbman - any use of pirated software for any purpose is illegal - full stop

Regards
Doug

Well just to be safe, you might as well buy it. You can find it really cheap on eBay.
