After the horrendous experience with the moderators over at the "other board" :confused: , I've decided to drop in here in hopes that this isn't the censor capital of the world. I'm not an evil person, but after making some idle chit-chat on the other board, they edited out my thread which kinda of upset me. I'm not a big fan of someone editing my writing without my permission. Sad

A little about me...I use VB6 mainly for purposes of a great hobby, but I've also used it in the work I do, so I'm no stranger to stability requirements. I specialize in ADO database interfaces and Winsock TCP clients/servers, so feel free to ask me a question. If I have to, I'll try to figure it out. Learning the finer points of socket programming and database access (mainly the SQL language) is where I'm focusing my excitement to programming at the moment. I've been peeking my eyes into the DirectX SDK, but to tell you the truth...I still don't understand alot of what is required for that. As a matter of fact, I've not gotten the urge to even create one of the "simple" DX applications. I'm happy processing data currently, and I hope to help out as much as I can here.

(btw: Do you allow avatars on the board? If so, when do I get to set one?)

Welcome to the forum. We hope that you enjoy your stay. As we're new we don't have much members...but we're growing fast. We hope that your experties helps everyone who visits this forum and you soon become an expert.

We're not strict as much as like EVBF coz usually only members who get bored from EVBF come to this place. For now we're working hard to keep these forums up and a good, enjoyable and helpful place for everyone.

Nah..you can't look at it that way...your just getting started here. Give it time, and let's provide valuable information to the crowds. Give them a good place to go, and they'll soon catch on. I hate to think someone only shows up here cause they are bored elswhere. From what I've seen so far, your providing good information. Keep up the good work!

Schaumburg actually, I don't know the area very well since I just moved from Ohio about a year ago...haven't done much in the way of studying the area though.
