On my laptop I have the DBGrid but when I go to put it on a form I get a message about not having a license to use it at design time. ("License information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality in the design environment.") On my machine at work the DBGrid just plain isn't there. Both are running VB6 Pro.

I found the "zip" file (it's not a zip, but I can't remember offhand what it is) on the install CD and extracted the files to c:\windows\system32. (I deleted the dbgrid32.* files from there first.) I right-clicked dbgrid32.inf and clicked Install. I still got the message. So I click Start > Run and did "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\dbgrid32.ocx". I still got the message. Then I went back and right-clicked the INF file, and still got the error message.

So how do you install DBGrid? Should I just forget about it and use the "Microsoft DataGrid Control 6.0 (SP6) (OLEDB)" control instead? If the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is 42, then what is the question?
